Founded in Kilburn, later moving to Camden Town, and now with a presence across London, Good Ship Comedy is your friendly, neighbourhood comedy club. For over fifteen years, they have showcased some of the finest comedians from the UK and international festival circuits, including Milton Jones, Sara Pascoe, Josh Widdicombe, Sindhu Vee, Fern Brady, Romesh Ranganathan, Rosie Jones, Paul Sinha, Lou Sanders, Maisie Adam, and many more. All shows are hosted by their experienced resident compere, Ben Van der Velde, who brings professionalism and energy to every performance.
Good Ship Comedy hosts regular gigs in Leytonstone, Holloway Road, West Norwood, and Battersea, and are curating their first-ever comedy festival this October. Alongside public events, they have extensive experience creating bespoke comedy nights for a diverse range of clients, including Windwave Bicycle Expos, Creative Assembly (the BAFTA award-winning games studio), and even British Naturism.
While they run several public comedy nights, they also specialise in private events. Whether it’s an office Christmas party, an awards ceremony, a birthday, a bar mitzvah, or even a successful exorcism, they can curate the perfect line-up to suit the occasion. Their unique advantage comes from being a comedian-run company. Ben Van der Velde, the helmsman, is an experienced host and MC who regularly performs at major clubs nationwide, including The Comedy Store, Glee, and Komedia. With over a decade of industry experience, Ben has an unparalleled understanding of the UK comedy scene and works directly with acts to ensure the line-up fits the audience perfectly.
